Dr. Oksana Syvak began her education to become a medical doctor at the National Medical University named after O. Bohomolets, in Kyiv, Ukraine. She worked as a clinical obstetrician-gynecologist for 17 years, during which time she also served as a Clinical Operation Lead conducting research for Paraxel International. During the Revolution of Dignity at Maidan, she effectively organized four underground medical hospitals for protestors, allowing for the treatment of over 500 patients.
Dr. Syvak went on to apply her skills in the public sector, serving as the Adviser to the Minister of Health of Ukraine on implementation and healthcare policy, before assuming the position of of Deputy Minister on European Integration of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in 2016 - 2017.
Dr. Syvak currently operates as the head of the board for the NGO "Medical Project Center," alongside her role as Executive Director of the Open Doors Center.
